Please
note that the Saturday 3rd’s match is called off as Nomads cannot
raise a team.
Rare
Treasure Discovered.
Someone, somehow has got hold of a gem. A long forgotten picture
has emerged which portrays a Barnards Green overseas player in
earlier days.

picture and then email us when you have
spotted the man ( or woman)
in question.
Special congratulations go to four members of the Colts’ section for
their performance for the 3rd’s against Enville.
Appearing in their first
senior game, James Scullion, Harry Pleass, Callum Cambell and Mark
Ratcliffe
impressed everyone with their contributions to the match and
helped The Green
to another win. Well done lads !
Success
Continues
Wins for the 1st’s, 2nd’s and 3rd’s see us
challenging for top spot in all respective divisions.
The Singles are currently struggling to find form but wth such a
wealth of talent to draw upon,
it can only be a matter of time before things change.
18th
June 2004
The Green 1st’s travel to the picturesque setting of
Oldswinford
in a bid to maintain their unbeaten status. Meanwhile a much
shuffled Dickey’s
Boyz XI can take over top spot if things go right for them at
Northend Lane.
The Turds seem to have drawn the short straw this week taking on
Enville with
a somewhat depleted line-up. All support is welcome!
Many
Thanks to Nomads 3rd’s for not putting a team out against Old Hill !
Due to Nomad’s efforts, Old
Hill were awarded a 24 point walkover last week
depriving The Green 3rd’s of top spot.Wait ‘til I see my
Brother in Law.
14th
June 2004 - Silverware !!
Congratulations to The Green’s Players who lifted the Carnival Cup
on Monday night.
Quotes
of the week.
OK, unless
you know better, the two quotes for this weekend both come from the Sunday 2nd’s
game at
The Green.
1. Chris
Hill (after 9 overs of the match had been bowled) “Have you read today’s
match report Lambie?”
2. The Polish Prodder (looking at the fielding
marker disks) “This boundary looks a bit small in places!”
Unfortunately
the Under 14’s practice night on Monday 14th June has had
to be
cancelled as the coaches are unavailable. Practice will take place
as
usual for the other Colts on Wednesday.
3rd’s top the league. **** Well almost !!!
Following
another reasonably exciting finish to their game at Droitwich
which saw
victory off the penultimate ball of the match, the 3rd’s now lead
their
division.
Full match report.
IMPORTANT DATE FOR YOUR DIARY – 14th June
The Green are
through to the first final of the season, and on Monday
14th
June travel to Ombersley for the final of the Carnival Cup.
Their
opposition will be Colwall. The match starts at 6.30 and we need as
Warning!!! 43 Umpa Lumpas and a Willy Wonka
to hit Trent Bridge on Thursday.
much support
as possible so please try to come along.
Look out for them. Photos to follow! Could someone be getting married?
Jon
Lewis takes 5 for 37 at Ombersley
A great
overall performance in the field on Sunday saw the 2nds
achieve victory against Ombersely. Jon Lewis and Chris Hill were
outstanding
with the ball and stand-in Skipper Dick Brown showed that despite his
advancing
years he
can still outthink the opposition. Read the full
match report.
Quote
of the week.
Yes,
the quote of the week is back and this week it’s from …guess who!
Yes you
guessed correctly it’s from our overseas (Polish) player Marek Wajzer
batting
with Roy Mayo on Sunday.
Marek:
“ You don’t have to run if you don’t want to !”
